1. Installation of Electrical Wiring: Install wiring harnesses, connectors, and electrical components according to vehicle specifications and wiring diagrams. Ensure proper routing and securing of wiring to prevent interference with moving parts and to maintain reliability.
2. Diagnosis and Repair: Troubleshoot electrical problems using diagnostic equipment and wiring diagrams to identify faulty components, shorts, and open circuits. Repair or replace damaged wiring, connectors, switches, relays, and other electrical components as needed.
3. Modification and Customization: Assist in the modification and customization of vehicle electrical systems to accommodate aftermarket accessories, audio systems, lighting upgrades, and other customer requests. Ensure that modifications comply with safety regulations and manufacturer specifications.
4. Quality Control: Perform quality checks on completed wiring installations to verify proper operation and adherence to quality standards. Conduct functional tests and inspections to identify and rectify any wiring or electrical issues before vehicle delivery.
5. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of wiring modifications, repairs, and installations. Document wiring diagrams, schematics, and service procedures for reference and future troubleshooting purposes. Complete service reports and documentation according to company guidelines.
6. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and standards when working with electrical systems to prevent accidents, injuries, and damage to vehicles. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow proper safety procedures for handling electrical components and tools.
7. Collaboration: Coordinate with other technicians, mechanics, and service advisors to prioritize work orders, share information, and ensure timely completion of electrical repairs and installations. Communicate effectively with team members to address any issues or concerns regarding wiring tasks.
8. Training and Development: Stay updated on automotive electrical systems, wiring techniques, and industry advancements through training programs, workshops, and self-study. Continuously develop skills and knowledge to improve efficiency and effectiveness in performing wiring tasks.
