Roles and Responsibilities • Oversee the special process lines (including alodine, bed blasting, E-polish, chemical polish, anodizing, chemical cleaning, texturing, electro-less nickel plating, passivation & etc.) and work in conjunction with the machining production, planning to deliver quality finished products to customers. • Working independently and managing a team of staff for equipment setup, plating/special process operations and documentation. Troubleshoot problems for equipment, product, and manufacturing issues. • Perform sophisticated chemistry lab techniques including vacuum/fractional distillation, column chromatography, recrystallization, extraction, fundamental gas chromatography. Operating the essential lab instrumentation, such as TLC, FIT-IR, DSC, and TGA. • Handle/use hazardous materials (solvents, combustibles, lab gasses, chemicals, etc.). • Participate in all phases of special process planning execution, data collection and analysis of lab experiments. • May require additional or special hours to support production Practice 5S concept at all times. The Senior Chemical Engineer will work on designing, tendering, and monitoring the installation of bulk chemical and high purity chemical systems for industrial facilities in semiconductors, electronics, biopharma, and related industries. The gas systems include bulk chemicals, high-purity chemicals, slurries, and related distribution networks. The Senior Chemical Engineer will collate the client’s capacity requirements and specifications and prepare the conceptual design, make a detailed design for system capacity, configuration, schematic, P&ID, PFD, layout, distribution, and system parameters, and prepare documents like the scope of work, reports, specifications, standards, logistics, and detailed drawings for tender. The Prospective Candidate will review proposals from contractors and continue to support them during installation when required. The Prospective Candidate will work closely with other disciplines such as Architects, Civil, Cleanroom, Electrical, Automation, Mechanical, and Construction Engineers, as well as CAD/ BIM designer in designing and delivering the project. Requirements You should have a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or equivalent. You should have sound experience in designing high-purity chemicals and distribution systems related to semiconductors manufacturing or similar facilities. You should be able to comprehend clients’ URS, and design with concept design, schematics, PFDs, P&IDs, routing layout, the scope of work, specifications, and functional descriptions. The experience in designing Gas systems will be definite added advantage. Your familiarity with the Semi standards and Malaysia standards, manufacturing tools, materials, and CAD/ BIM will be an added advantage. You should be able to make presentations to clients and engineers on design, tendering, project execution, supervising progress, and quality of work.
