History
NTT DATA CORPORATION was established in 1988 as the result of a spinoff, whereupon it became the first subsidiary of NTT. Formerly, the company was known as the DATA Communications Bureau, a unit created in 1967 within the Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation (which was privatized and renamed NTT in 1985).
Our consolidated net sales amounted to 1 trillion yen in 2007. In 2008, the number of group employees exceeded 30,000. In 2010, the NTT Group ranked thirty-first on the Fortune Global 500 list of companies. The NTT Group is the world's second-largest telecommunications company, and NTT DATA is a core member of that organization.
