Guoman/Thistle Hotels operates hotels across upper 4 Star and 5 Star markets and has the flexibility to operate across product ranges from large convention hotels, to casino integrated hotels and to small boutique hotels. Guoman Hotels is not a hotel chain, rather a collection of individual hotels each with their own character and history. Existing Guoman Hotels include in London include The Tower Hotel, The Charing Cross Hotel, The Grosvenor (formerly the Victoria), The Cumberland and The Royal Horseguards.

Existing Hotels in Asia include the Thistle Port Dickson Resort, in Malaysia. 250 rooms located on 90 acres of ocean front property approximately 45 minutes from downtown Kuala Lumpur with a 9 hole golf course, 2 tennis courts, 3 restaurants, 1 bar and limited banquet/meeting space.

The Thistle Johor Bahru, Malaysia is part of the brands international expansion. The hotel will re-open, after a complete 6 month refurbishment in mid 2009 and will have 351 rooms with 2 restaurants, 1 bar and substantial banquets/meeting space with a dedicated wedding centre. The hotel will be staffed by 400 staff.

The Guoman Beijing is another part of the brands international expansion. The hotel will open in early 2010 and will have 470 rooms with 3 restaurants, 1 bar and substantial banquets/meeting space. The hotel will be staffed by 500 staff.

The Guoman Shanghai is another part of the brands international expansion. The hotel will open in mid 2010 and will open with 304 rooms with 2 restaurants, 1 bar and substantial banquets/meeting space. The hotel will be staffed by 350 staff.

The Guoman Kuala Lumpur is final part of the brands international expansion to date. The hotel will open in early 2011 and will have 250 rooms with 2 restaurants, 1 bar and substantial banquets/meeting space. The hotel will be staffed by 300 staff.

There is currently a relatively low awareness of the brand particularly in Asia and thus the need for a senior, qualified PR/Comms Director.
