GM Tan and Company was founded by Gene Tan in May 2012, initially as a sole proprietorship law firm based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In that time we have grown into a bespoke, multi-award-winning law firm that offers a diverse range of legal solutions to business and individuals across the world, supported by our extensive international network of legal entities and law firms worldwide. Our firm’s expertise and acumen are evident in every commendation, award and accolade that we have achieved in our existence.

What sets us apart, however, is the care and dedication we bring to every case. Whether we are supplying legal localization services to international brands, or providing legal services support to marginalized communities, we aim to give clients clarity and support through confusing legal challenges or problematic practices.

In 2017, we created the movement #heartbasedlawyers to inject more heart into our legal practice for our clients to experience legal services in a holistic light. It is through this movement we strive to ensure that all our intentions, actions and services be of heartbased values when assisting, supporting and helping our clients.
