In June 2018, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) announced its ground-breaking decision to appoint DDMC Fortis as its exclusive commercial partner for all its competitions for the period 2021-2028. The appointment followed a highly competitive bidding process, with DDMC Fortis winning out over multiple major international firms, including IMG, Infront, MP&Silva and Lagardère; the incumbent rights-holder. The comprehensive mandate covers all rights and services for all AFC National Team and Club competitions, beginning in 2020 with the start of the Asian qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup 2022, and including the Asian Cup 2023 to be held in China for the first time in 19 years.
