We have an immediate requirement for a number of Service Engineer and Commissioning Engineer roles: 

BRUSH is the largest independent manufacturer of Turbogenerators to the Global Power Industry with ambitious growth plans. 

Our Aftermarket division is conducting a worldwide recruitment drive to help us to deliver outstanding products and services to an expanding global market. We are seeking Service Engineers and Commissioning Engineers to complement our existing team, and to ensure we deliver unrivalled levels of customer service. 

We're looking for Service Engineers and Commissioning Engineers to act as champions for BRUSH, and to promote the Company, its products and its name while carrying out on-site installation, alignment, commissioning and performance/acceptance of large New Build generators (up to 200MVA), Power Management Systems and their associated sub systems at customer premises. The team also supports the overhaul, repair, modification and cleaning of large high voltage generators, and diagnose/fault find related problems for Customers satisfaction.
 
The role holders will participate in the relevant activities associated with their role:
  • Supervise the offloading and positioning of large generators and related equipment onto prepared foundations
  • Carry out alignment checks and adjustments to machines and complex shaft systems using mechanical, optical and laser based systems
  • Commission generators and associated control equipment including generator protection systems
  • Strip down and rebuild large generators and/or related equipment; diagnosing faults and rectifying as necessary, and overhauling and cleaning as appropriate.
  • Complete all paperwork associated with the installation to ensure safety and quality compliance
  • Ensure assignments are monitored and delivered in accordance with expenditure and project schedules
  • Interpret specifications and technical requirements; prepare method statements and detailed, concise reports for submission or presentation to customers
  • Attend technical meetings on site and at customer's premises as required
  • Undergo training, as necessary, to provide assistance to winding specialists in carrying out in-situ winding repairs/rewinds
  • Carry out electrical testing on high and low voltage windings in the field
  • Train customers' personnel, and subcontractors in the safe operation of equipment and in diagnosis of faults
  • Support and deliver in house training for other staff to support the development of capability within Aftermarket
  • Prepare method statements and carry out on site risk assessment on every assignment and record details on specified paperwork
  • Carry out other reasonable duties as directed from time to time by the Field Service Manager
  • Communicate effectively both internally and with the customer 
This is a challenging and important role requiring a high degree of technical competence and safety awareness, with a corresponding level of self sufficiency and resourcefulness as global time differences often mean that factory support is not immediately available. The role requires extensive overseas and offshore working in often remote areas for protracted periods. The nature of the work calls for strength of character and physical fitness. Differing assignments may require working alone or as a member of a team. Customers include the offshore oil industry and Nuclear power stations.
