About Al Siraat College
Al Siraat College is an independent co-educational Islamic school located north of Melbourne city in Victoria. The college was established at a quiet farm site in 2009 with about 80 students. Now in its tenth year, it has grown to 940 students aged between 5 and 18 but that figure is expected to grow to 1200 in the next few years.
Facilities
The rural property at Epping has many heritage icons including the original homestead and bluestone barn of the Lochaber Estate, now over 160 years old. The school opened with just one portable building but now has what it describes as a “a functionally built Learning Neighbourhood” incorporating open plan spaces. There is also additional portable buildings, science lab and refurbished secondary building for girls, two sporting fields and playgrounds. Construction of specialist rooms for food technology, textiles was completed in 2017, providing the College with amazing spaces for STEM education.
Curriculum
The curriculum based on Australian guidelines and is designed to be broad and inclusive. It aims provide a framework that encourages in-depth thinking and encourages students to make connections about themselves, as Australian Muslims. In junior years, the focus is on the core subjects of English, mathematics, art and physical education. Students are also taught Quran and Islamic studies. A range of electives from drama to robotics are offered as students reach secondary school. There is an integration of Islamic teachings in all subjects.

Al Siraat College strives to be a transformative school community devoted to holistic education. It aims to foster values of respect, sincerity, integrity, responsibility and perseverance. Its identity is based on being an Australian School in the Islamic tradition.
