Since year 2000, STL has started to undertake customized software projects in the area of quality and productivity improvement for the manufacturing sector. This solution, generally known as statistical process control, and is marketed by STL as Quality Process Performance Manager (QPPM) Solution Suite, allows the users to capture critical process data at real-time, then analyze and plot the information in the form of control charts so that the users can monitor the variation of the process intelligently. Furthermore, the users will be automatically alerted of process problems via e-mails or other means so that corrective actions can be taken as promptly as possible to reduce process spoilage and wastage.

Over the five years since 2000, STL software solutions business has grown steadily. This is mainly due to STL responsiveness to customer requirements and changes in technology. The growth is also partly due to macro economic environment after the 1997 financial crisis, where high cost of similar systems from oversea drive companies to look for lower cost local suppliers as alternatives.

The users of STL QPPM Solution Suite have reported significant improvement of their production output, some by up to 50%. Furthermore, STL QPPM Solution Suite has also enhanced users relations with their customers. For these reasons, this system was recommended by the users to their other plants in the same group of companies, and eventually implemented in the manufacturing plants in Singapore and Thailand of the Crown Group of Companies. At the same time, STL QPPM solution Suite has also attracted the interest of other big group of companies.
